Bride's Story

In December of 2002 Steve and I were introduced through a mutual friend who thought we would like each other. (I guess that friend was very right!)  When I met him my first thought was that he had the prettiest eyes I had ever seen.  He was also rapping at the time and rapped a song for me the first night we met and I was very impressed with his talent.  We hung out a couple times and our first kiss was on New Years Eve.

We had both been in serious relationships not long before we met and we both weren’t looking to get serious right away.  So we dated on and off for 6 months and when we could no longer deny our true, deep feelings, we became an official couple.

We have been inseparable from then on.  We both say that we wish we were already married and have been together for nearly 5 years now so it is wonderful to finally be making this commitment.  My family genuinely loves Steve very much already and can’t wait to have him as a relative.

Groom's Story

I knew Marisa was special from the first time I met her!  Gorgeous smile, beautiful eyes, wonderful personality!  We liked the same music, laughed at the same jokes, and enjoyed the same activities.  Neither of us were looking for love, but love found us nonetheless! 

God truly sent her to me, because up to that point, I had been living an unfruitful life.  Like any relationship, we had our share of ups and downs.  I realized I wanted to be with her forever, but my behavior was prohibiting it from happening.  So I began to attend church with her family in order to gain their approval.  God, however, had His own plan for my attendance.  After I gave my life to the Lord, he began making my crooked paths straight.  With a healthy relationship on the horizon, there was only one thing was left to do.  So during a vacation to Fiji with my dad, I proposed to Marisa on the beach…. and we have been counting the days ever since.
